Join the LCM Board
Thank you for your interest in serving on the Lutheran Campus Ministry of Fresno Board! The LCM Board consists of elected individuals that are either Lutheran and part of an ELCA congregation or are a member of one of the ELCA's full communion partner congregations. The LCM Board meets once a month, with each member taking on additional responsibilities as needed.
Basic Requirements for Serving on the Board:
1) Passion to fulfill the mission and vision of LCM as outlined in our values.
2) Passion for young adult ministry and LCM's work with partner congregations and the Fresno community including but not limited to faculty and staff of higher education.
3) Commitment to serve the Fresno area and all races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, economic classes, religious affiliations and abilities. We welcome all at Lutheran Campus Ministry of Fresno.
4) Involvement at an ELCA Congregation or an ELCA full communion partner congregation.
5) Capacity to support the work of LCM with time, effort and monetary contributions at whatever level-big or small-you are capable of.
Time Commitment: Board Members terms are three years in length with the opportunity to serve two consecutive three year terms before being asked to forgo your position on the LCM Board. The Board meets monthly for an hour and a half but occasional additional meetings may be needed. Additionally, the LCM Board meets for a yearly ministry developing retreat. Board Members work with the Ministry Associate to fulfill the mission and vision for Lutheran Campus Ministry. Board Member duties include but are not limited to assisting with fundraising and special events with occasional opportunities to visit supporting congregations and community partners.

Position Descriptions:
Young Adult: The young adult position is a designated position to be filled by a current young adult involved in Lutheran Campus Ministry programing. This position encourages the involvement of a young adult and gives insight into the Young Adult's Group.
Member At Large: This position is a general board member position with no specific duties assigned. The Member at Large position encourages an individual to offer their gifts and passions to the board and ministry of LCM.
Financial Secretary: The financial secretary position is responsible for half of the finances at LCM. This specific position requires some knowledge of bookkeeping and preparing financial reports and familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks. Specific duties include but are not limited to: regularly picking up bills, writing checks on an as needed basis, processing payroll with the payroll company, balancing accounts, entering in deposits and financial contributions into QuickBooks, publishing financial reports once a month for monthly meetings and for year end purposes, processing annual donation letters and assisting with the preparation of the budget the following year.
