Bulldog Pantry

The Bulldog Pantry was launched in November of 2007 by Lutheran Campus Ministry of Fresno and a group of concerned students and staff from California State University, Fresno. Unlike most pantries, the Bulldog Pantry offers a "shopping style" pantry in which those in need are empowered to hand select items they're in need of. Each year, hundreds of food insecure families benefit from the Bulldog Pantry.
As part of the Bulldog Pantry model, the pantry is student run and empowers students to take ownership and fulfill a need in their community. Due to a partnership with California State University, Fresno the Bulldog Pantry currently has two students from the university who fulfill our Student Coordinator positions. In addition to feeding those in need, the pantry has the unique opportunity to serve as a place for students to have hands on experience with community engagement, develop leadership skills and fulfill the goal of service learning.
